Chocovivo has been crafting bean-to-bar chocolate in Los Angeles since 2009, maintaining a vertical supply chain and working directly with growers. Their cacao comes from a region considered the birthplace of chocolate, where the Mayans first transformed cacao into an edible form. Our challenge was to capture that sense of purity and heritage—bringing the brand’s story to life through packaging while emphasizing its organic nature and positioning it as an accessible luxury.

We explored several concept directions, incorporating watercolor textures inspired by the brand’s proximity to the beach. A bold cacao pod illustration became the focal point, symbolizing the bean-to-bar process. After refining multiple options, we landed on a direction that balanced tradition with a modern aesthetic. The Mayan Tradition bar set the foundation for the full product line, guiding the design, layout, color, and textures across the range. The result was a striking collection of dark chocolate bars that honored the brand’s roots—leaving both the client and their customers delighted.
